Polystore systems allow to combine different heterogeneous data stores in one system and besides offer different query languages for accessing data. While this addresses a large number of requirements particularly when providing access to heterogeneous data in mixed workloads, most polystore systems are somewhat express in terms of their functionality. In this paper, nosotros make the case to 'upgrade' polystore systems towards full-fledged databases systems, leading to the notion of PolyDBMSs. We summarize the features of such PolyDBMSs and exemplify the implementation on the basis of our PolyDBMS Polypheny-DB.

The nowadays document is Deliverable D5.1 "Data Analysis Space Blueprint" of the Linked2Safety project. The Data Analysis Space is responsible for subject selection, single hypothesis testing, data mining, pattern discovery, knowledge extraction and filtering, and notification of safe alerts. The pattern of the Data Assay Space will be used to implement the Data Analysis Infinite in deliverables D5.3.i and D5.iii.2. This deliverable presents the design of Data Analysis Infinite in terms of software components. Initially, the requirements of the Information Analysis Space are derived from D1.1 Requirements Analysis and other requirements such as security and speed and scalability are analysed. And so the workflow of the Data Analysis Space is designed taking into account the RDF information cubes, which are the input of this space and are provided by the Linked Medical Data Space (WP4). The workflow of the possible analyses of the space consists of the following steps: input, pre-processing, processing, post processing and output. Later on, the components of the Data Analysis Infinite are identified based on the workflow of the Data Analysis Infinite. Each component implements a pace of the workflow and the integration of the components is designed using the Milky way web server [1,two,iii]. Each component is designed in a meridian-down mode as a set of modules and each module is designed in a summit-downwards manner as a set up of algorithms. A database is designed to store the results and the workflow followed by the performed data analyses. The database is a module of the 'Processing' component.
